Congratulation to Chris on one of the most dominant performances of any team in KOD history.

Just so we can all appreciate what just happened: On September 13 after 27 games  the Twins had a losing record of 13-14.  From that that point they finished the regular season with 13 straight wins. In the post season they went 11-3 to win the KOD29 World Series.  So in all Minnesota played 54 games in KOD29. They went 13-14 in the first half of those games and an amazing 24-3 in the second half.

Whatever Chris said to this team to make them think they were the '27 Yankees it certainly worked.  There is no doubt in my mind that the '64 Twins are definitely the deserving champs of KOD29.  Great job Chris.

Wow, what a great run. 24-3!! Unbelievable. Fun team to play with Killebrew, Oliva (his rookie year, and maybe his best season), Bob Allison, Jimmie Hall, Zoilo Versalles, Jim Kaat, Earl Battey. Great team! --submitted by Bike Mike--

Congratulations to both teams on fine seasons.  The Twins were the team of destiny this time around...good news for the Cubs though.....the O's still hold the title of most bomblasted team by the Twins. LOL

NLDS: Cubbies outlast Dodgers in 5. Koufax and Drysdale both injured

Game 1 -  Drysdale v. Zambrano:
This will go down as the Drysdale game.  The Cubs score a couple of early runs (1 each in the 1st and 3rd) and it appeared as Zambrano was cruising.  Then with 2 outs and 2 on Drysdale takes Big Z deep for a 3 run bomb!  Drysdale shuts the Cubs #1 offense down the rest of the way for a 3 to 2, 140 pitch complete game win.

Game 2 - Koufax  v. Prior:
Koufax (after 5 pitches) got hurt after striking out Walker.  The Cubs score 5 off of reed and Prior and Ohman combine for a 3 hit shutout.

Game 3 - Ortega v. Maddux:
With the game tied 2 to 2, the Dodgers send 8 guys to the plate and score 2 runs for a 4 to 2 victory.

Game 4:
Rematch of game 1, Drysdale v. Zambrano:  The Dodgers grab the early 1 to 0 lead in the first, but Drysdale gets hurt after an inning and a third and has to leave the game. The Cubs get 1 in the 8th to tie and then a 2 run homer by Murton for the 3 to 1 lead.  Dempster closes out the 9th for the victory to tie the series at 2 -2.

Game 5
Rematch of game 2, Koufax  v. Prior: The Dodgers may have pitch Koufax before he was fully healed as he gives up 8 runs in 2+.  innings.  The Dodgers fought hard, but fall short losing 11 to 8. Cubs take the series 3 game to 2.  In the post series press conference Mr. Koufax told the world that he's walking away from the game to avoid the risk of permanently losing the use of his left arm.
